Bomb food! Breakfast burritos are delicious and filling! They have the best salsa !!! I've only ever picked up to go.
Clean, friendly service, an extensive menu, and decent prices. I crossed the border, Joe - and I'm still feeling the pull of authentic comida Mexicana! El Nopal is particularly good if you're craving breakfast. They've got all the usual Mexican options along with some good Gringo choices as well. The pancakes look delish! My Huevos Rancheros was exactly right. Served with arroz amarillo & frijoles with a side of tortillas, it was a tasty and filling way to start the day. The vibe is *FIESTA* with perky mariachi music and brightly-colored papeles picados overhead. It's a table-service place, but very casual. They have a limited bar, so on a scale ranging from food-truck tacos (cheap!) to Mijo (crazy expensive!), El Nopal is the Goldilocks choice right between between Roberto's and Dona Maria's. Including a large horchata and tip, my meal was just under $20. Not cheap, but not breaking the bank either. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here - but when I'm in the area, Viva El Nopal!
What a hidden gem. Food...ambiance...music...atmosphere are all authentic. This is a "real feel" restaurant. Staff is very accommodating with menu change requests. I had their "Taco Tuesday" in the past and they were amazing. I am having Fajita plate tonight and am sitting here cannot wait. Service is great. Price is reasonable. For authenticity, great price, and wonderful flavors...give El Nopal a try. You will come back just like I did. Menu is in both Spanish and English. Servers checked on me even though I am sitting in the "to go section."
Cutely decorated, very clean, decent service Dinner with friends. Ordered the rolled chicken taquitos. Moist chicken, very crispy. Came with rice, beans, guacamole, lettuce tomato and green salsa. The rice cooked and seasoned perfectly. Mixed vegetables were added to the rice. Beans creamy, could have had a little more seasonings. Friend ordered the chili relleno with rice n beans. Good amount of flavor, gooey cheese. Very good. Chips and salsa yummy as well. Need to come back for breakfast.
